GENEVA - Angelina Jolie says she was thinking of taking on a new role and expanded with the UN agency for refugees that were already working as a Goodwill Ambassador.
The actress told reporters Tuesday that the agency is still studying their options and work on details, but have not settled on anything because they want to get it right.
Jolie stopped by the European headquarters of the United Nations to highlight the plight of refugees in the world in a speech to the Executive Committee of the Agency. The officials and diplomats said it was with the agency known as the Commission to work for them was "moving, sometimes heartbreaking, but always rewarding, and unforgettable."
And her face on refugees everywhere from Somalia to Afghanistan, amid applause and broad.
"They are the people most vulnerable in the world, and they are also the most flexible in the world," said diplomats at the United Nations representative and officials.
"Refugees are survivors, they are mothers, daughters, fathers and sons, are all people who have an extraordinary story, which tells the remarkable strength in the face of great loss," she said. "They need our help more than ever before."
Julie also pointed to the killing of United Nations staff in Afghanistan, and Nigeria and said, "we must ask with great respect to the concepts of independence, impartiality and neutrality in order to ensure the safety and lives of humanitarian workers."
She said she hopes to increase the budgetary constraints of donor countries, the UN will not stop her from continuing to open their wallets for the most vulnerable in the world.
On Monday, was in Geneva to be recognized for her work and honor the aid package of Yemen, and the Association of human solidarity, in the annual awards ceremony of the Office.
