The lesbian actress who starred in the Showtime cable show "The word L" says she was escorted out of a plane belonging to the Southwest Airlines kissing a woman, while the airline says it was excessive and drew customer complaints.
Leisha Hailey took to Twitter on Monday to call for a boycott of the carrier after the flight attendant said to them, other passengers complained after seeing affection.
The first tweet to her, "have been discriminated against me." She added later, "Since when showing affection for someone you love is legitimate?"
Responded to Southwest Airlines on its Web site with four sentence response.
"Initial reports indicate that we have received several complaints from passengers characterized the behavior as exaggerated. We have a crew, responsible for the convenience of all customers on board, approached the passenger based solely on behavior and not gender," and said to him.
A discussion ensued on board the aircraft, the company said it was "escalated to a level that is better resolved on the ground."
The unidentified actress and her friend on a flight from Baltimore to St. Louis. And kissing took place in the air and discuss follow when the plane landed, but there were no details on how the couple was escorted off the flight in a statement the south-west.
Healy said recorded meeting between the couple and attendants. It's not immediately clear who made it.
